A Note From Our Executive Director - Lindsay Buford

A healthy workplace has not only become a trend for businesses in our state, it has become a necessity for life.  Research has shown that a healthy workforce is truly a more productive and less costly workforce.  Employees who exercise and eat healthy on a regular basis have fewer sick leave days, are more efficient during the day, and have less risk for major illnesses and diseases.  While many individuals spend a majority of their day in the office, many businesses are taking the opportunity to provide a healthy lifestyle for their employees during these hours.

Another factor that continues to be considered in today’s business community is going “Tobacco Free.”  ChamberPlus and the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership have decided to become a Smoke Free campus for the health and safety of our employees and visitors.  By limiting the use of tobacco products on our campus, we are providing an environment that encourages healthy living. 

On behalf of ChamberPlus, we encourage our members to continue to offer their employees wellness benefits and opportunities to live a healthy lifestyle.  Not only will you save tangible dollars for your company, but you will save the lives of each of your employees.  Our health is greatly affected by our lifestyle choices, and we must provide the opportunity to make the right lifestyle choices.
